When you start studying Marketing at a business school, I am sure that you would have come across the Marketing Management book by Philip Kotler and Kevin Lane Keller.

In the book, Kotler and Keller give a suggestive phrase that defines marketing – ‘meeting needs profitably’. This is enough to build upon.

Kotler and Keller suggest that Marketing is about identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer needs profitably.
